Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber
Inside the chamber the air pressure is higher than normal while you breathe oxygen through a mask. Under pressure, more oxygen dissolves in the blood plasma and reaches tissues that are recovering from surgery.
Hyperbaric oxygen is used in medicine to support wound healing, reduce inflammation and help the body fight certain infections. After surgery it is a complement to recovery: it does not replace the operation, the diet or the follow-up.

A session, step by step
Screening
A short check of your ears, lungs and medications to confirm the session is suitable for you.
Getting in
You lie down comfortably in the chamber in cotton clothing, with no electronics or lighters.
Pressurization
Pressure rises gradually; you equalize your ears as on an airplane and breathe oxygen through the mask.
Session
It lasts about an hour. Staff watch you the whole time and you can talk to them.
Who should not use it
Hyperbaric oxygen is not for everyone. Tell the team if you have an untreated collapsed lung, a recent ear surgery or ear infection, a cold with congestion, severe claustrophobia, uncontrolled seizures or if you could be pregnant. The decision is always medical.

Does it hurt?
No. You may feel pressure in your ears during pressurization, like on a flight. Swallowing or yawning relieves it.
How many sessions will I need?
One session is included in the gastric sleeve package. Additional sessions are indicated case by case.
Can I have a session without surgery?
Ask when you book. Hyperbaric oxygen always requires a medical evaluation first.
